One more OUT!
Someone woke up terribly disappointed at 5 am the day after to find that the tooth fairy forgot! Mom assured him that maybe he just hadn’t given her enough time and that he needed to put that tooth back under his pillow and go BACK to sleep (good luck there mom!) Mom dug around for Dad’s wallet in the dark morning hours to see if he had any cash…she certainly did not. And then waited for the disappointed little darling to go the bathroom, or otherwise leave the tooth unattended. Luckily crying out for Mom at 5 am was not enough and at 6 he cried out for Dad to tell him the horrible news. While he was telling Dad of his tooth fairy woes mom gave the small lecture about not being patient and giving the little fairy a chance...all the while with her hand under his pillow, already the money in place. When he had finally put the tooth back, a quick slide of hand and the deed was done! Mom and Dad barely had gotten back into their room when, “Oh my Gosh! Mom it’s crazy! No wonder I didn’t see her …she’s a ghost!” Thank heavens for little miracles that preserve our youth, innocence, fun…and the
tooth fairy!

Flossie has made some pretty amazing deposits at our house too! That smile looks familiar...we've seen a similar one at our home.
Scott would be terribly jealous. He is dying to lose his two front teeth!
Oh Diane - The tooth fairy has forgotten about as many times as she has remembered at our house. Poor kids. We just tell them that sometimes she gets backed up and that they may just have to wait a few day.
Also - the song on your blog - Didn't our best buddies, "Anyone for Squash?" used to sing this song? It really sounds familiar and takes me back to the DT lobbies circa 1992/1993 :) Good times!
Oh man! How many times have I had to tell my Amanda that the Tooth Fairy is really busy. She likes to write notes to the Tooth Fairy and the dutiful fairy gets to answer her notes, all the while hoping she gets her stories right:) What handsome boys. How did you get all boys and me all girls?
With 4 kids the toothfairy can get really tired at night and completely forget to check for teeth at our house! So many times they come downstairs and tell me that the toothfairy forgot so I tell them to go back up there and "double-check" (those corners of the pillow can be pretty tricky) and surprise! they just didn't notice the money the first time... (of course now Ami knows the truth and tries to tell on me...)
So cute! I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten about the tooth fairy, and we always make up some lame excuse like, "Oh, she probably came, but couldn't fine it, let's try again tonight." Such a great picture.
Thank you for posting this--you made me feel like I'm not the only forgetful tooth fairy in the world! I've made up every excuse from "I guess we just went to bed too late--she had already been to Mesa..." to "Maybe it fell down between the bed & the wall..." (as I get them to turn and look at something and quickly toss the $$$ down the wall...) =) It's amazing to me that they continue to believe... Oh, the faith of a child... Thanks for sharing! =)
